It is amazing how cultures are different…Are you Korean? Because in Europe no one would ever judge a person for their parent’s doing nor discriminate or treat them differently. In our perception the way people treat the FL because of her family’s doing is utterly unfair, horrible and even criminal: they ruin her life but she is not at fault. when I read these kind of stories in mangas I can not understand Korean society’s reaction and comments…they leave me just baffled….It is definitely a different mind set…fascinating

yall I think it’s a bit of a misunderstanding/mistranslation
Basically in korea women who are close call each other ‘언니/unnie’ if one is younger than the other and the direct translation for that is sister/older sister. In different translations of this manhwa I’ve read, it’s clearer because they use the terms unnie, 삼촌/samchon (uncle) and 오빠/oppa (older brother)
Even though these terms are also used by actual blood relatives, using them doesn’t necessarily mean the people are related especially in the context of this manhwa
