That’s why it was a great plan since they wouldn’t assume and even herself to get her out, I mean “endure” doesn’t seem like she should kill herself, she misunderstood. The plan was to use that knife to defend herself incase anything does happened and use max the “crazy” crown prince to sneak her out without anyone noticing. As far as we know the dad couldn’t even be near her as he wanted because of the emperor and to the dad he seem like he knew her very well when she was growing up because he has a lot of flash backs when she’s a baby. It seem like he expected her to wait since he said endure not to go as far as killing herself, might as well still wait for the explanation in the future.

But that was later in her new life! She didn’t know anything about the emperor trying to use her or the reason her father was so cold to her! So it was sadly perfect for her to unalive herself! She literally even said before she did it like I’m tired of being alone and abandoned! All she knew was no one liked or believed her and the crown prince was a crazy person that liked to torture people! And I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m not gonna get tortured for something that I didn’t do. If my choices are be tortured or unalive myself I’m going with the option that I have control over!

I get how she misunderstood, but I guess her dad underestimated how unloved she felt by him and how desperate she was to escape that situation. He probably thought them being family meant she’d listen and wait it out. He definitely didn’t understand her mental state as someone who was dumped and at rock bottom. Also the man has zero ability to comfort people.
