I think it’s been a while since I last read this so am currently rereading all the chapters. I’m guessing that the owners of the necklace in her first life are the Reas family who may also be the family who took her original family if she’s the original descendant. They probably made a deal with the emperor who pardoned them so he can have some control over the Duke’s family like what happened in the previous life. I also think the poison she was taking was so they could steal her power and once they did, she was useless which was probably why her “dad” told her to k!II herself in the beginning.
