i feel like hes being groomed, it makwes me so uncomfterbale

by whom? He was groomed by blondie already so thats why. I think, its a awkward stand from our point of view but think of it like this- he was raised in an environment, fully religious, that religious environment had a heavily negative aspect on him but he was stuck in that religious environment. He now met someone who is moving him away from the religious beliefs(good or bad) that he used to have. Moving him away from his abuser as well. It feels uncomfortable because his old situation was so so so uncomfortable. I think whats uncomfortable is thinking of the fact he was in a situation where he was groomed, and technically he still is- but since its still going on, it feels weird to be with someone you feel comfortable with when you felt uncomfortable your whole life.

Let’s think about this for a bit before calling it grooming right of the bat without prior knowledge.
There is implication of platinum blonde knowing Ian before because he was apparently looking for him. This chapter litterally referencing “failing to protect who could’ve and regretting it”. There is care and affection but no sexual intention aside from the intention of fluttering.
Then again Ian’s already been got at a young age and raised, hence very loyal (on par with his impulsive and intense personality) to cardinal blonde, who by looking at their relationship right now, overprotective of Ian because he feels some kind of favor towards him through raising him. But as we are getting implicated at, has raised him for a reason so meaning, not wholly goodness of heart reasons. (Sus)
I can see why on surface that it looks like grooming behavior but affectionate touches and comfort, some in suggestive positions is kinda early to pronounce grooming- with so little shown in this point of the chapter.
