The dad chose power and wealth over fl mom. He could have stayed in exile with her. But to rebuild his family honor and authority he had to marry the daughter of a wealthy family. Then he treated that women without love. Idk if he just ignored her or what, but he probably wasn’t a good husband. Then when he gets his daughter back, did he investigate how she was never found sooner and punish the wife for hindering him? No. He allowed her to bully his daughter and then still has the audacity to want her to treat him like a caring father! He is delusional.
