I like her at first because she doesn’t seem like a dimwit or impulsive person. But at these chapters, it’s still ok seeing her be amazed by the sights but it’s frustrating see her not listening to her maid’s advices and not having an ounce of common sense. Most people, even not having education, will be frightened at the sight of an emperor but she doesn’t even respect him. It’s just too impulsive. All of it. I even hate the author now for making her illiterate

I can’t say the same. In the village she kept quiet and didn’t make trouble because of her mom. She did have the courage even then to talk to the chief or the other old men like she does to the emperor.
Her mother was blind so she didn’t have the means to teach her and no one would take that task upon themselves.
She was just concentrated on surviving. On having food fill her pot so I don’t hate her naive ways.
From my point of view she’s just venting because at night she’s in a constant nightmare.

I really liked the red-haired guy before because he’s kind of different from troubled tsundere mls but now that I read more, it’s clear that Bayan and the emperor are meant to be. Please give the red-haired general more screen time tho 🥺
