That is just a Flintlock my friend. Its a very primitive pistol used in the 1500s. That comes in as no surprise.

Guns are older than you think, of course they got more sophisticated but the ball bearing gun was created before the USA’s revolutionary war, yes it might be skewed because the author decided to go with slightly more modern guns but who cares this is a story not reality

for anyone confused abt how they have guns already, it’s been mentioned a few chapters ago how they already can do X-RAYS. guns have been used since before the 1700s, and there have been references to guns before (such as chris saying bullets are blind and elise’s brother being part of the rifle knightage).

Elise’s brother is apart of the Rifle Knightage as well as her second older brother telling her oldest brother “Bullets are blind” they are further along then most of you would think also the first recorded usage of a firearm dates back to 1364 and the matchlock was invented in the 1400s before that you had to manually hold a burning wick up to the gun so the gun powder would ignite. Then this looks more like a flintlock and the first “true” flintlock was made in 1630 but if you look back in history we’ve had “guns” since the middle of the 12th century

I don’t mind a mishmash of technology and etc but we do made aware beforehand. A brief short mentioning of it is not enough although I am not saying they should show people have guns and etc by having all armed personnel carry guns. Otherwise it’s rather distracting and not in a good way. How do you think people would have reacted if in the movie LoTR: The Fellowship of the Ring the Uruk-Hai mortally wounds Boromir by pulling out an AK-47 and gunning him down?
