why are there ipads, metal wheelchairs, modern frames etc isnt this set somewhere “no so advance”?

Actually, I believe that was a clipboard he was holding. I thought of a tablet at first, but when I looked at it again, what looks like a screen is the paper. The first wheelchair was made in the late 1500’s. I’m more surprised no one mentioned the ceiling and wall lights. There’s definitely some sort of electricity. This is probably more of a world where some things advanced a little more than others.

What they’re holding is most likely clipboards and it’s already been explained that their medicine and such is a lot more advanced than usual thanks to an Alchemist. As for the gurney, it’s likely a scene of an emergency room back on earth

those are probably not ipads but paper holders and some of those things already existed in the 1700 where the story it’s probably set

@arhmgfl not ipads, they are that thingys that hold paper or medical records. And also they already have knowledge to make an X-ray, of course they would have other things. It was said about another doctor who brought that knowledge.

Their world is most likely a bit more advanced then we all would like to think. If you’ll remember her second older brother told her oldest brother “Bullets are blind” which makes me think unless that was a miss-translation they have guns or rifles that are developed far enough that they’d be useful and usable in wars which means they’d be developed past flintlock’s placing us somewhere around the 1700s. And if Elise’s hypothesis about that Alchemist Flemming having knowledge of the developed modern era of Earth like her some advancement with things that concern the medical field might have arrived in an unnatural order like pharmaceuticals existing without the knowledge on how to apply them in practical scenarios.
