The story claims Clovis(?), or whatever the emperor’s name was, never saw his child… but he also said that he buried the bodies himself, or at least that he had them both buried. So, unless there was some switch or something I’m not sure how the kid could be Ivy/alive
Ren Ain't Quite Right
There’s often a setup of switching the child with another in order to ensure the escape of the real one during a crisis. I don’t see Lillian doing so with a living child, though, so she could have requested a stillborn/recently deceased child for the switch. That, or the enemy lost the child, and left a random baby with Lillian to cover for their mistake. Another option could be that she gave birth to twins, but one was stillborn. Lillian comes off a bit clairvoyant, to me, so she may have even anticipated this, to some extent.

Yep, this would be much better if she’s not that child and just ends up as a motivation to give other chars closure. Doubt the story is that smart, tbh
