i mean… it wasnt like the duke lied about Gilles 🤷♀️ 11years did warrant more doubt on her part, esp since the accusation was given without any evidence & she is supposedly meant to trust Gilles…. but Gilles really is guilty of having voyueristic tendencies. & his feelings for her did cross certain boundaries. hes essentially the same as when “nice guys” are only friends with the women who they like bc of ulterior motives, aka the “friendzone.” so he hardly deserves any pity here.

I pity Gilles. His loyalty was questioned. I also agree that the Duke tempted him to spy on them since he knows Gilles have affection for her. How I wish she can be with him instead of the manipulative Duke.

I don’t think he was truly pursuing her as much as the duke was implying. I think he just had a long-time crush on her and while he does love her, he doesn’t actually feel entitled to her like a typical “nice guy”. He may have been voyueristic but he didn’t really do anything except see his lady with her husband most likely coincidentally. I think he had a one sided love and thats it. I mean, thats the girl he’s loved for 11 whole years, i doubt he would suddenly be so disrespectful to her by watching her like that. Though i could be wrong, I don’t really think he was with her for an affair, its more likely because he’s always been with her and his affection towards her was a constant. It would be weird for his character to behave so badly since he has such respect for Chloe, yk?
