Honestly when heroines do that tactic of crying it just makes them seem childish and annoying; like a spoiled brat. “If you won’t let me do what I want then I’ll throw a tantrum and make you feel bad till you do.” It makes me feel so bad for the duke since he really is trying to be a good parent and good parents will say no. So when I see a good parent saying no to something that is dangerous and the protagonist throws a tantrum, I just feel salty.
