i never liked him and this just solidifies my opinion even more. but how were they born on the same day if she was pregnant with ashtarte WAY before the emperor even brought that woman into his room. so this makes me think that he did the same thing even before this. and that he didn’t even wait for her to do anything. he just impregnated someone else with no sort of reason for it.

Unless she saw the whole thing instead of snipets, it could also be that he was holding a sword, ashtarte hurt, but it was not him who hurt her.
Also prophesies cannot be changed. If they could be changed instead of creating more misunderstandings which would definitely lead to getting the child killed, the mom could’ve made it so the emperor would not kill the child by creating a better plan. She basically set her daughter up for pain and failure. 🙄
