I pity him too but the brothers are going about this relationship the wrong way. They apologize the bare minimum and then step back. No much warmth, mostly because they were not raised to express themselves that way.
This could have been an entirely different type of story if the second prince that attempted an approach more direct and empathetic and actually had consistently tried to build a relationship. Gift giving is not a great substitute.
I dislike tough that the plotline seems to be grooming Ashtarte for giving up her dream of a loving family and nearly is punishing her for having that dream in first place, in favor of paving the path for a new life with the love interest.
The father is trash and the brothers so far are doing too little to balance out years of absence but … The main character deserved better and more, and whole the aganst with the siblings feels rather contrived.
They know they are in the wrong and want to make up for it , the misunderstanding was just that , and in the end they were still kids under the authority of a messed up emperor when everything started, so at least in the beginning , the neglect was not their fault.
In another type of story, they might easily get a redemption arc and the MC would get both romantic and familiar love.
But here the plot just … moves toward other things so 🫣

yes and i love them for it, i absolutely LOVE THEM FOR THIS!!! because they took a lot of time and effort to make it even when they didn’t have to!! and it just shows that they like this and that they want to let others know about what they think
and you have no idea how tempted i was to make this a paragraph, lol, it would have just been filled with absolute nonsense. but heres my opinion NOAH IS THE ONLY OTHER COMPITENT PERSON IN THAT FAMILY SO HE IS ASHTARTES FAMILY!!

it makes me frustrated that ashtarte expects the brothers to change. she said she has no expectations from them, but from the panel where she says “nothing will change” shows she is expecting something. but she’s the one that told them it’s no use now. she’s shutting them out and so they obviously feel like they should step back. they didn’t need to apologize or explain anything to her, yet they did it anyways. the bare minimum would be sending the items back to her through courier with a note of apology. instead, they showed up (which they’ve never done before) to apologize for what they were talking about because it was a misunderstanding. they might not be able to express their emotions well but that’s because they were abused as children. do I think they deserve ashtarte’s forgiveness? no. I think ten years of neglect is enough for her to make that decision. but what bothers me is that the princes were trying but someone other than ashtarte shooed them away and rejected whatever they were planning to try to fix their relationship with her. in the end, she didn’t get to make the decision to cut them out of her life. it was made for her and now she’s living with the consequences of that choice.

The adults are at fault here. Traumatizing and making bad decisions. The kids are the only ones trying to make amends. No one teaches royalty how to apologize. They are trying and should keep working on rebuilding bridges.

I feel bad for the siblings, and in some way they are all going about this wrong, but also, how much was their fault?
Ashtarte is young and lonely and is now shutting them out after being burnt, so no more chances are to be given.
Noah is young and lonely and created a misunderstanding when he could have been honest with Ashtarte at the least.
The crown prince doesn’t know what to do about his feelings so he unintentionally strung Ashtarte along and shut her down harshly and was ignorant of his brother’s problems.
But it all boils down to these kids had no good adults looking out for them and Ashtarte had one very stressed and over protective adult who’d rather her cut out hurtful ppl without recourse.

I honestly kind of love how well she articulated in a better fashion the phrase, ” I’m sorry that you heard that” , which is not an apology for the offensive comment, but yet only an apology that the victim was subjected to hearing the offensive comment without acknowledging that if the victim didn’t overhear, the perpetrator would have said the comment with zero guilt

Also, I don’t actually feel sorry for the brothers in any way shape or form, they have not yet at all apologized to her for the way they’ve treated her. That is literally step one on the road of reconciliation as ” an apology is required, but forgiveness is optional.$
