I’m guessing the maid Elina faked evidence of her families wrongdoing. Honstly, could have been her families crimes and just replaced it with the female lead family and she played a victim. But at this point, I blame the female lead. None of this has happened yet. The foundation for her family downfall is just now happening. Instead of not letting that woman be her personal maid, she invites her into her home and let’s her flirt with her husband. And her idiot husband wants to see how far the maid will take it. Instead of warning her father not to trust the marquis family, she pretty much keeps it to herself and doesn’t push for any investigation or really tell her father they suspicious and to investigate them. She’s so focused on the future that hasn’t happened and a previous version of life she lived that she’s forgetting she’s blaming a husband who literally has not done anything yet. Even a blind man can see he has feelings for her, she would rather sit in her own issues and keep him as the enemy instead of try to figure out what happened and make sure the crazy lady doesn’t ruin her marriage

This really is one of those ones that even if he legitimately does love her right now, that does not get rid of the memory of him saying point blank to her face that he also wished she was dead… There is no version of protecting somebody that equals a private conversation between two people in a secluded room and one of them saying I also wished you were dead (at least no version that isn’t the stupidest thing that’s ever existed.)
The honest proper solution to this (if he does love her currently), Is to make sure her family doesn’t get framed and then leave him and move on with her life (not try to get revenge on him if she does realize that the current him has done nothing wrong).
To be fair, I think it’s only happened like one time in the history of this trope.

If the Nova family faked the evidence that makes them the ultimate villians. However, that doesn’t give her husband a pass on how he treated her. Elina probably faked the affair, but he said he wanted to kill her, and did order the death of her father. You can argue he still cared because he wanted her to live, but sometimes death is a mercy, and live is more hellish. He might of had a plan, but obviously didn’t trust her enough to communicate it to her.
She is foolish for forgetting that this is the past and so he hasn’t betrayed her yet. She wants to change her family’s downfall, but forgets she could also stop him from turning away from her since he clearly cared for her at one point. Problem is, she thinks that like the Novas, he is lying. That he never actually liked her and his kindness is fake, just like the Novas loyalty is. That is were the problems and misunderstanding lies.

I don’t think the FL want to stay in marriage anymore. She is stopping herself to love him like before. He clearly betrayed her in the past instead of fighting for her.

People rarely change you know? Even they don’t betray or cheat now, it doesn’t mean they won’t do it in the future. And the fl had experienced it in her past life. The ml didn’t treat her bad in the beginning of their previous marriage too. That’s why she felt betrayed by him. People who are capable to cheat or betray you, will do it again in a heart beat. 🤷♀️ That’s the universal truth.
