This all could’ve been avoided if they just decided to adopt Chloe and raise her as their own child. And Idk why that never crossed their minds. They were wanting for children were they not?
Legitimately every issue that has come up in this story. Even if they still wanted to steal her inheritance, if she was adopted and raised by them she would’ve lived the relatively normal life she had before, they would’ve still gotten rich and wealthy, and without the buttload of skeletons in the closet. If Chloe was never sent away she probably would’ve still been found by Ash and married that way. Then the Raymond’s would’ve been basicly inlaws with the marque.
But at the same time I understand why they didn’t. Greed and jealousy make people stupid.
