Honestly, if a child has to work at all to EVOKE emotions in their parents… then they’ve already failed as parents. FL is only able to do it because she’s an adult who has lived multiple lives. A normal child would’ve been too scarred to function properly in life.

so true and sad. why do they even bother to have kids if they won’t even bother? this genre is so uncomfortable that even if the parents had character development and became loving, I still don’t like them (I remember the classic Athy’s father). no child deserves this treatment.

I agree with torryy and onigiri-chan. Her dad reminds me of the father in the kdrama the atypical family cos both dad’s failed in raising their kids properly and giving them the love they deserve cos they were depressed. The only reason the fl in this manga didn’t turn out depressed like the male leads daughter in the atypical family is because she’s an adult in a child’s body, and she was loved by her parents in her past life. If not for that she would have turned out depressed, lonely and had severe difficulty socialising and even being able to gather up the courage to approach and talk to her father at all like the daughter in the kdrama I mentioned.
