I can see why the empress is being the way she is, she’s a powerful woman and not just because of her title. she’s clearly trying to get a better understanding of what the church is actually up to but I still dislike the way she pulled this family into her little game. Shuri and Jeremy aren’t even 18 years old yet, and yet they both had to sacrifice their reputations and dignity in the face of false and overblown attempted assassination charges on the imperial family. That kind of mental stress and trauma isn’t something that a fully grown adult should just casually place on the shoulders of children that are still in the midst of grief all for the sake of her own plans.
