Probably due to the OG language not having gendered pronouns the same way english does. I’ve read a translated manga where two people were talking about the same person not realising the other was using the “wrong gender” (hidden identity aspec), and the translation note said how in… I think it ws Korean, there isn’t a “he/she”, it’s “they/that person” all the way.
